O’Neill Leadership Program

Equipping students to drive change across Indiana

The O’Neill Leadership Program provides students with the opportunity to apply their skills in real-world settings while contributing to the social, economic, and environmental well-being of Indiana. In 2023, students contributed nearly 30,000 hours of service, with 100 fellows partnering with 60+ organizations, including 23 nonprofits and 38 public entities.

The program connects graduate and undergraduate students with nonprofit, arts, environmental, and government organizations across the state.

Graduate Fellows

As Graduate Fellows, master’s students work part-time with partner organizations, receiving a stipend and benefits. This partnership enhances the capacity and impact of these organizations while providing fellows with professional development and networking opportunities.

Undergraduate Fellows

As Undergraduate Fellows, undergraduate students receive a stipend to intern with partners in Indiana, working an average of 10 hours per week during the academic year. These internships offer career-building experience, helping students grow professionally while giving back to the community
